Priest Staff - Attendance

I personally think we should base who gets the staves on attendance. Reguardless, this still keeps me before Gryim, but it means that if it doesn't drop in forever, some new guy can't waltz in and take it on his first run.

Just my thoughts, anyone else agree?

Re: Priest Staff - Attendance

To me, it should have been based on who has been here the longest .... but we wanted to roll the first time when it was between me and Damien becuase we had both been here so long. I knew it wouldnt be fair to you to make you to have to wait, and I knew I was going to be missing some raiding days so we rolled off and you won. Yea you're still first, then me ... then whichever of the 3 other priests that are 50+ get to raid first, prolly Nevin if he's interested in MC.

Re: Priest Staff - Attendance

Personally I think this is how it should go

Who has the eye of shadow -> Who has the greater amount of DKP

Because hell... even if you been there longer, if you don't have the eye of shadow you won't make use of the staff.

You're talking DKP earned, kaylend, not current DKP...right?

and as for the EoS, its not too tough to get. you can get a group together and farm the demons all day long, and chances are more then likely you'll get one(and i could be wrong, but i think we might still have one floating around in the guild somewhere...)

Re: Priest Staff - Attendance

yes DKP earned.... to represent your total amount of time raiding, the reason behind the eye of shadow, is because if someone has it and another person doesn't. That means the person who has put in the effort to get the eye (luck aside) and is "more" prepared. + it would just really suck if someone without the eye took it over you when you had the eye.

The one the guild had went to you, so as far as I know the guild no longer has an eye of shadow. There was one on the AH as of late last night if someone wants to blow 500g on it. Also, if you really want one, send an alt over to the blasted lands and check for Kazzak every now and then since he has a 100% drop rate for the eye.

Its a quest item so DKP has nothing to do with anything.

The use of DKP is to determine who has helped out most in raiding, so the eye goes to who ever has helped out more. DKP represents more than just a method to distribute loot. The eye itself has no value however.

Given the last couple of patches increased the drop rate its mostly a non-issue. We just go to Winterspring the next day and kill demons for 2 or 3 hours and BAM! instant eye of shadow.

I believe it should go in order of who has been in the guild longest, honestly to me it doesn't seem fair that a newcomer have first dibs over someone who has been in the guild from near the begining. That's just my opinion.

Chances are, if you've been in the guild a long time, you're going to have a high amount of attendance.

But I don't want someone who's been a 60 priest for months in the guild, but would wrather farm honor instead of run MC with the guild, to think, "Oh, we're killing Domo tonight. Maybe I should go on my first run tonight."

yeah, I don't think that's really an issue though shweex ;] our whole apps process is designed to weed out douchebags that would do that.

That does make a good point, I agree.

Re: Priest Staff - Attendance

Raid attendance % isnt the fair way to say who gets it first. What if someone has a lets say for arguement sakes a 95% attendance, but that is all that person does .... shows up every sat/saun/tues and goes on the raid but spends the other 4 days a week on an alt on another server. Why would that person have the right to take the eye over someone who has like a 60% attendance, has been in the guild for many more months at 60, and is on his main 6-7 days out of the week doing various other things with the guild, but just happens to not be able to make raid times due to time conflicts ? DKP and raid attendance should NOT determine it, just roll off like we have done.

You make a good point there, Gryim.
But what if (I know he won't, I already asked him, he said you're next for sure) Nev had just hit 60, and he goes on his first MC run with the guild, and beats your roll. That means a longer wait for you.
In a way, this is what I did, and I honestly kind of felt like a prick for it, knowing how long you've been with the guild.

I guess no matter how you look at this, it's a double edged sword. Going to be some good and some bad no matter what.

However, what I think would benefeit best, would be all the priest agreeing on who gets eyes, with the acception of anyone having the eye already. In which case, they could get it by default, like Kay said.

Re: Priest Staff - Attendance

You priests are spoilt! Already we're down to the final two priests needing it to my knowledge.

Gryim, and Nev.

Gryim will naturally be first, but in all honesty, it's not like Nev has to wait THAT long! o@;

I will always be up to farming more eyes of shadows with the aid of groups. So never worry about the AH option. It's icky. 2 have dropped so far, and each took 2-3 hours. So honestly it's not THAT painful.

EDIT: and Mazzy soon hopefully :3 Drransom mayhaps too.
