quick question: how does taunt work? does it actually add any threat? does it just force the mob to attack you for a bit? does it put you at 1 higher than the top threat holder? permanently? I seem to remember from alpha/beta that druids got the "old" warrior taunt: just a flat ammount of +threat.

it just makes the mob look at you long enough for you to hopefully get some threat. if you don't manage to get to the top of his list in 6 seconds it just goes back to doing whatever it is that it was doing.

taunt lasts 2 seconds im pretty sure.

yeah, taunt got nerfed bad a while back.

It used to last 6 seconds, with imp taunt it was 8 sec cooldown, and it used to have a small range on it.

so yeah, taunt used to tank for you, i think it actually needed the nerf it got

I also thought taunt only put you at slightly more agro when it faded....like you were top for the duration by 1 pt of hate....example:

Scurn has 14000 hate.
Taunt.
Stug has 14001 hate, basically +1 to whoever is highest on the list, including changes, for whatever time limit taunt lasts, and thus leaves you in the lead by a "small or marginal" amount of hate. I could be wrong, but that's what I always thought.

yeah, i thought taunt put you at the top +1 on the aggro list, and also made the mob forced to target you for the duration, thus how it seems to be "temporary aggro" if people are still out aggroing you through taunt.

initially when you use it it makes you top of the aggro list, but if you cant outaggro someone during the duration of the taunt, it goes right back to whomever it was pwnin, however youre higher than you previously were on the aggro list.
