Are you against METAL music?

When we say Metal Music, we mean METAL music in which it's divided into a variety of styles:
Heavy, Speed, Thrash, Melodic, Power, Progressive, Black, Death, Doom, Gothic, Dark
And the styles are devided into sub styles as well:
Extreme Heavy, Epic Power, Fanatsy Progressive, Classic Heavy, Oriental Death, Brutal Death, Grindcore Death, Vampiric Black, Extreme Underground Black, Doom Death etc

Three years ago, Metal music fans faced a hell loads of accusations here in Lebanon and were treated as if they are some kind of monsters or a virus that should be removed from the society, when they are humans just like those who listen to Arabic/Techno/POP or any other musical style. They eat, drink, learn the same way as the rest do, it's just their musical interests that differ from the others.
We thank the lord that ugly era, calling us satanists and rebellious, is gone.

If you are a fan of metal music, please state how it affected you in a bad or good way & name your very favorite bands. If you are not a fan and you are against such music, tell us why.

Notice: Rapcore (such as Linkinpark, Limpbizkit), Alternative (Creed, Stained), Underground Alternative (The Cranberries) are not to be considered a part of the metal community.

I have absolutly no problem with such kind of music, but i dont listen to it, i am the kind of persons that listens to calm music, Intsurmental most of the time.

I've been into metal for almost 12 years now and never in that time I dissed my religion or others religion. Never thought of getting a tattoo of a pentagram, anti-christ or any symbol that is considered as anti-religion. Metal music didn't affect my life, studies or manners. To me it's nothing but a music that calms me down when I'm in a bad mood and cheers me up when I'm in a good mood. It's nothing solemn or divine and it's not the LAW as alot of posers say "metal music is the law and we live by the law" "if you are not into metal then you are not my friend", I'm so against that.
I do play guitar, I contributated in two local heavy metal bands, had lots of fun and still do whenever I'm free.

My very favorite bands:
Iron Maiden, Gammaray, CircleIICircle, Blind Guardian, Death, Control Denied, Mayhem, Metallica (old school, 80's albums), Megadeth (80's albums), Rainbow, Black Sabbath, DIO, Secret Sphere, Vision Divine, Thy Majestie, Sirenia, Tristania (90's albums), Bruce Dickinson, Demons & Wizards, Slayer, Exodus, Battlelore, Shape Of Despair, Darkwell, Manowar.

I do also adore some classical geniuses, irish celtic music is a plus & Enya's voice

btw,i think The Dying Bride could be counted as metal cuz its a doom band (i guess) i like this band.
when i feel like im connecting to death,i play it.But its quiet long time i dont play doom music,so i cant tell much abt what i felt or was it affect me when i listen it.

Yes, My Dying Bride is a doom metal band formed in the early 90's after the death of the vocal's wife. If you like the atmosphere of doom metal and such, you should check on Shape of Despair and Skepticism, pretty disturbing and depressing music and lyrics.

I'm not speaking of someone's taste, but this specific music genre in a whole. When it comes to me I'm against RAP/HIPHOP and TECHNO music, I'm not going to state why not now not on this thread.

Metal is not the kind of music i like
