Once there was a sultan. He has 10 secreteries he asked each of them to bring him 10 gold coins each weighs 10 grams. But one of the secretaries was rubbing 1 grams from each oh his 10 gold coins, the Sultan knew that but he didnt know who is doing it and he have one balance and can use it only once , just once. How in ur opinion will he know who did it ????? This one is hard think .....

eno ma i already answered this :S

-Name the bags of the gold coins: b1,b2,b3,....,b10
Name the secreteries: s1,s2,s3,...,s10

-Take one gold coin from b1, two gold coins from b2, three from b3 and so on all the way to b10. Put those coins on the balance and find out the total weight of those gold coins. (let's call this total weight: Tweight)
-Now the actual total weight (acTWeight), assuming all the gold coins are there, is 10 grams (the weight of each gold coin) multiplied by (1+2+3+4+5+6+7+8+9+10 = 55 gold coins) equals to 550 grams.
i.e. 10 grams x 55 gold coins = 550 grams, the actual total weight if all the gold coins are there.
-Now subtract the actual total weight (550 grams) from Tweight.
-Depending on what you get from that subtraction the sultan will know which secretary is the theif.
Since if the asnwer was 1 gram then s1 is the theif, if the answer was 2 grams then s2 is the theif, if the answer was 3 grams then s3 is the theif, and so on.
