Fadi Khatib Signs for Hikme, Denying Riyadi Contract

Lebanon's basketball superstar Fadi Khatib has signed for Hikmet, or Sagesse, a day after Riyadi, or Sporting, announced that he had signed to play for it in the new season, the Beirut media reported on Thursday.
The two top basketball clubs have served separate warnings on Khatib that each will sue him before a court of law if he plays for the other, several Beirut newspapers reported.

The dispute erupted after Khatib returned from Aleppo, where he played a year for the Syrian Ittihad club. He told a news conference in Beirut Wednesday that the contract produced by Riyadi was fake although Riyadi chairman Hisham Jaroudi had distributed photocopies of a March 14 legal contract carrying Khatib's personal signature.

The two clubs have jointly asserted that they would not allow the Khatib affair reverse their reconciliation that ended seasons of belligerent rivalry, which was brought about in tribute for assassinated ex-Premier Hariri.

Jaroudi refused to reveal the financial terms of Khatib's contract with Riyadi. Media reports placed his contract with Hikmet at $1 million.

anyway... the financial term with Riyadi was 1$ for 4 years.... i read that in a newspaper...
