KBAlerts: WGA Explained & Certificate display in OE6 Remedy

The following KB Alert applies to the Bypass found for WGA check story we covered last week, and the follow up, Microsoft responds to WGA circumvention. The alert is titled Description of the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation check in the Microsoft Windows Update Web site, I guess Microsoft needed to make a point of showing people the difference between 'Activation' and this (mandatory) secondary check for licensed customers of Windows 2000 & XP.

The second of the two alerts is an interesting one, while we've all faced Microsofts seemingly tireless efforts with security updates and tools to combate spyware, this one tops the bill. Behold the KB alert: Outlook Express 6.0 crashes when you click the certificate icon in the preview pane header. While this is a pretty nasty bug you shouldn't need to worry, Microsoft's remedy is simple, Click on the message before you select the certificate!!!
